The coordinator of QUDICE, Pino Vallone, together with his research team of the University of Padova, will be contributing to the European Quantum Technologies Conference (EQTC), a conference organized by the Quantum Flagship initiative, that takes place every year in a different location around Europe.
Vallone’s contribution to the conference will include two types of presentations:
Contributed Talk: Development in satellite quantum communication
Poster title: Recent advances in free-space and fiber quantum key distribution
About EQTC 24
EQTC – European Quantum Technologies Conference this year is taking place on 18-20 November 2024, in Lisbon, Portugal, under the motto: Building Europe’s quantum future together!
The main objetives of EQTC are manifold. Among them, attendants to the conference should aim to:
- Learn about the latest scientific results in Quantum Computation and Simulation, in Quantum Communication and Networks, in Quantum Sensing and Metrology, and in Basic Science and Future Directions for Quantum Technologies, in 40+ talks from leaders in the field

- Learn about the latest developments of the EU deployment of infrastructure for quantum computation, quantum communications, and quantum sensing.
- Discuss the development of an inclusive European community and ecosystem in Quantum Technologies.
- Participate in the special sessions on Quantum Computation and Artificial Intelligence, and on the Benchmarking of Quantum Computers.
- Participate in the Quantum Finance Lab organised by the European Investment Bank Advisory Services, and in the Quantum Investment Session organised by AMIRES
- Discuss the societal impact of Quantum Technologies, including their ethical and legal aspects.
- Learn about the latest developments in Education and Outreach in Quantum Technologies.
- Participate in the EU Inauguration of the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology 2025, and the launch of the Quantum Cities initiative.
